Outdoor Education and Sport at Taradale High School play an important role in developing confident, resilient, and well-rounded students. Through a wide range of sporting codes and outdoor learning experiences, students are encouraged to challenge themselves, build teamwork skills, and enjoy the benefits of an active lifestyle while making lasting connections with others.
We run a fantastic Outdoor Education programme at Taradale High School, designed to give students meaningful, hands-on experiences beyond the classroom. Set in the beautiful Hawke's Bay Region, our programme makes the most of the region’s stunning coastline, rivers, ranges, and outdoor adventure opportunities. International students consistently describe their Outdoor Education experiences as a highlight of their time in New Zealand, building confidence, resilience, and lasting friendships along the way.
Please view our Outdoor Education Programme brochure below for more information about the trips and activities our international students take part in.
International students at Taradale High School are encouraged to take part in the wide range of sporting opportunities available. Sport is an important part of school life in New Zealand and provides a great way to make friends, build confidence, stay active, and experience Kiwi culture firsthand. Students can participate in competitive and social sports across a variety of codes, with opportunities to represent the school locally and regionally. Our staff support international students to find a sport that suits their interests, experience level, and seasonal availability.
