Head of Sport and Netball

Permanent Part-Time | up to 20 hours per week (to be negotiated) | Term time only$30-$34 per hour. Support Staff in Schools’ Collective Agreement

Taradale High School is seeking an experienced and strategic sports leader to provide oversight of all school sport, with direct leadership of our netball programme.

This is a part-time leadership position responsible for setting the direction of sport across the school, ensuring programmes are well-run, equitable, and aligned with our values.

Key Focus Areas

  • Develop and lead the strategic direction of school sport
  • Provide budget oversight and ensure fair allocation of resources
  • Support and guide the Sport Coordinator and TICs
  • Ensure transparent selection processes and high coaching standards
  • Oversee health and safety systems within sport
  • Lead and develop the netball programme, including:
    • Coaching and team oversight
    • Referee development
    • Pre-season coordination
    • Clear communication with players and whānau
    • Regular Saturday presence during the netball season

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has strong experience in sports leadership (school or community)
  • Brings proven netball knowledge and programme experience
  • Demonstrates sound judgement and professional integrity
  • Can lead strategically while maintaining positive relationships
  • Is committed to student participation, development, and wellbeing

This role works closely with the Deputy Principal (Sport) and Sport Coordinator to ensure cohesive planning and delivery across all sporting codes.Applications close: 4 pm, Friday, 20 March 2026. Start date:  to be negotiated.
