Dear Parents / Caregivers
On Thursday 16 May, all Year 12 students will be signed out of their timetabled subjects to participate in a one day course of the ‘Loves Me Not’ program. This program is a school wide approach and has been designed by the New Zealand Police to advise, inform and guide adolescent’s to establishing healthy relationships and keeping themselves safe in various situations. Known New Zealander psychologist Nigel Lata, is a key spokesman of this course and voices the importance of adolescent’s being able to recognise healthy/unhealthy relationships and doing so, is a life skill (YouTube link below). The delivery of this course is collaborative, being delivered and facilitated by local Hawkes Bay Polices Officers, selected teaching staff of Taradale High School and allowing student voice in a safe and non-judgmental environment.
